Magic and Might…with a funny side!

Rick Riordan is and probably always will be my FAVOURITE author! His creative, funny, and action packed novels are amazing.

Today, I’m going to share with you two of my fave books of his, both the beginning of a series…

Rick Riordan’s first, and my fave, series”Percy Jackson and the Olympians”is great! You won’t be able to put any of the five books in this series down.

The first book “The Lightning Thief” is the book where we meet Percy Jackson and his best friend, Grover. Percy’s been kicked out of school many times, all for things he can’t explain. Like how in Grade 5 he had a bad experience with a revolutionary war cannon and hadn’t meant to hit the bus.

He learns his true self on a run in with a minotaur, a person who has the body of a man and the head of a bull.

Soon he reaches a safe place for kids like him, and meets a couple new friends and sets off on a quest to bring peace to Mt.Olympus, along with reuniting with a father he never knew, all while solving the Oracles riddle which warns him of betrayal of a “best friend”.

This book is for all ages.

If you like this series any of his other 3 series:

  1. The Kane Chronicles series
  2. The Heroes of Olympus series
  3. Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series

I am lucky to have all of these series and can share them all.

The first book of the Kane Chronicles is called “The Red Pyramid”

Carter and Sadie are siblings though though they don’t look it. Sadie has pale skin and Carter has quite tanned skin.

Little do they know they are the descendants of pharaohs and have magic powers. No, not superhero shoot-lasers-out-of-your-eyes kind of powers.

They are put up against terrible problems when they loose their father to the wicked Eygptian god, Set. Struggling, they search for their dad to save him and along the way they make friends with a Speedo wearing, maniac driving, dwarf god named Bes.

Join both Carter, Sadie and Percy in their quests and enjoy the humour along the way!

Happy Reading!

Seren 🙂
